The reporting structure is based on the employee’s primary job manager in Connect Carolina. Contact your HR Representative to update the reporting structure.

ConnectCarolina data feeds into Carolina Talent. Any pending tasks for the manager are transferred to the new manager.

The data for the employee moves with the employee. The new manager and reporting chain can see employee information. If the employee is moving departments, the new PM rep will be able to see the information. History will display, as is applicable under the University’s Record Retention Schedule.

Any new tasks will be stuck until a new manager is assigned. The school/division HR should add the new manager using a position ePAR in ConnectCarolina to update the employee’s position reports to.

A co-planner will not be added to a task if no manager listed.

In situations where the manager can’t complete or needs help, a help desk ticket can be submitted to add a co-planner to a task.

The indirect reports that show are based on everyone’s primary job reporting relationships. At this time, if an employee is reporting to your secondary job, they will not display in your reporting. If you need this information reach out to the direct manager or HR Rep to pull this information.

Go to Goals → Team Goals and locate the employee goal you want to copy. Expand the goal menu and click on Copy. Follow the steps on How to Create Goals | Goal Assignment Section (Managers & PM Reps only) to assign the goal to your new employee.

Active goals can be canceled but not deleted. Only goals in draft can be deleted. For more information visit the How to Edit, Cancel or Delete Goalsfor more information.

Go to Performance → Goals and click on the Send Approval Request. Go to How to Approve Pending Goals (Managers)for step-by-step directions.

All draft goals are saved to Performance → Goals → My Goals until assigned out to others. To update your draft goal, click on the goal options drop down bottom and select Edit.

Goals can’t be moved. You can copy the goal and assign to another person. Then, you can cancel your goal. Unfortunately, goals can’t be deleted for tracking purposes. Go to How to Create Goals | Goal Assignment Section (Managers & PM Reps only) for step-by-step instructions on how to assign the goal to your employee.

You can do this from Performance → Goals. Go toHow to Edit, Cancel or Delete Goals to help you make updated on your goals. If there is a major shift in performance goals, then a new performance plan may also be created for review and signature.

Yes. Employees and managers can update goal progress at any time from Performance → Goals. Go to How to Edit, Cancel or Delete Goals to learn how to update your goals.

If an employee edits the details of a goal, then an approval will be sent to the manager. If it is a progress or comments update there is no approval required.

Employees previous documents can be found in the Employee Snapshot. Go to Employee Snapshot (view goals, previous documents, and more) for directions on how to view previous documents.

This widget can display the user's most recently completed review rating. If the most recent document completed was the Performance Plan, the widget will display ' No rating available'.

There is a bug in the system that displays the overall task expiration date, which is not the same as the task due date.

The overall task expiration date is the last day an incomplete task can be accessed without submitting a help desk ticket.

The Performance Plan task in Carolina Talent is used to document and deliver the goals and development plans.

Goals can be created at any time directly in the Goals Menu by the manager, employee or PM Representative.

• Hover over Performance in the top navigation and select Performance Documents.

• From the review table, click on ‘My Appraisal Task’ to launch the appraisal where you can navigate to the ‘Appraisal - Employee Self-Assessment section’ from the list in the middle of the page.

1. Click Appraisal – Employee Self-Assessment from left menu (fourth option – full title may not be visible and show only as Appraisal – Employee…)

2. The completed self-assessment appears in the middle of the page. Click More at the bottom of each response to view complete response if full response does not show.

You can edit your self-assessment any time before March 31. Go to Performance → Performance Document to see your assigned reviews. Click on the task title to launch the task.

You have until April 30 to make any updates to submitted appraisals without submitting a help desk ticket.
Go Performance → Document → My Assigned Reviews to launch the submitted task. Click on the task name to launch.
