The reporting structure is based on the employee’s primary job manager in Connect Carolina. Contact your HR Representative to update the reporting structure.
What happens when a manager is updated in ConnectCarolina?
ConnectCarolina data feeds into Carolina Talent. Any pending tasks for the manager are transferred to the new manager.
Will the new manager see all the historical employee data?
The data for the employee moves with the employee. The new manager and reporting chain can see employee information. If the employee is moving departments, the new PM rep will be able to see the information. History will display, as is applicable under the University’s Record Retention Schedule.
What happens if the employee’s manager is blank in Carolina Talent?
Any new tasks will be stuck until a new manager is assigned. The school/division HR should add the new manager using a position ePAR in ConnectCarolina to update the employee’s position reports to.
A co-planner will not be added to a task if no manager listed.
The manager is on leave. How will the tasks be completed?
In situations where the manager can’t complete or needs help, a help desk ticket can be submitted to add a co-planner to a task.
Second level manager can’t see full list of indirect reports
The indirect reports that show are based on everyone’s primary job reporting relationships. At this time, if an employee is reporting to your secondary job, they will not display in your reporting. If you need this information reach out to the direct manager or HR Rep to pull this information.
Active goals can be canceled but not deleted. Only goals in draft can be deleted. For more information visit the How to Edit, Cancel or Delete Goalsfor more information.
My goals are not approved, how do I get them approved?
All draft goals are saved to Performance → Goals → My Goals until assigned out to others. To update your draft goal, click on the goal options drop down bottom and select Edit.
I accidentally assigned myself a goal. How do I move it to my employee?
You can do this from Performance → Goals. Go toHow to Edit, Cancel or Delete Goals to help you make updated on your goals. If there is a major shift in performance goals, then a new performance plan may also be created for review and signature.
Can employees go in and update their goal progress at any time?
Yes. Employees and managers can update goal progress at any time from Performance → Goals. Go to How to Edit, Cancel or Delete Goals to learn how to update your goals.
If an employee edits the details of a goal, then an approval will be sent to the manager. If it is a progress or comments update there is no approval required.

Where can I find my employees previous performance documents?
The Performance Documents widget says 'No rating available' how do I see the previous performance documents?
This widget can display the user's most recently completed review rating. If the most recent document completed was the Performance Plan, the widget will display ' No rating available'.
Why are there different due dates in the Performance Documents via Snapshot?
There is a bug in the system that displays the overall task expiration date, which is not the same as the task due date.
The overall task expiration date is the last day an incomplete task can be accessed without submitting a help desk ticket.

I submitted my self-assessment; how can I access it again for my performance review conversation?
How to view your completed self-assessment:
Hover over Performance in the top navigation and select Performance Documents.
From the review table, click on ‘My Appraisal Task’ to launch the appraisal where you can navigate to the ‘Appraisal - Employee Self-Assessment section’ from the list in the middle of the page.
Click Appraisal – Employee Self-Assessment from left menu (fourth option – full title may not be visible and show only as Appraisal – Employee…)
The completed self-assessment appears in the middle of the page. Click More at the bottom of each response to view complete response if full response does not show.
I submitted my self-assessment by mistake? Do I need to submit a help desk ticket?
You can edit your self-assessment any time before March 31. Go to Performance → Performance Document to see your assigned reviews. Click on the task title to launch the task.
The Performance Plan expired, do I need to open a ticket?
I completed the manager review step in the appraisal task, but need to edit it, do I need to submit a ticket?
You have until April 30 to make any updates to submitted appraisals without submitting a help desk ticket. Go Performance → Document → My Assigned Reviews to launch the submitted task. Click on the task name to launch.
